My Ringette career started 11 years ago. I started playing Ringette in second year novice for the Dakota Lazers and I became a full time goalie in my second year of petite. I made the AA BVRA Angels my first year of Tween and played with them through to my last year of Belle. Both years in Tween, we won provincials and went to Westerns as Team Manitoba (03/04). In Junior, we came second in provincials and were Host at the Nationals hosted in Manitoba (05). During my first year of Belle, I also played for Team Manitoba and traveled up the Whitehorse, Yukon for the 2007 Canada Winter Games. In my second year of Belle (08), my team went into the season as the underdogs and ended up winning provincials. We won silver at Nationals in St. Albert and I was awarded two individual achievement awards during the bronze and gold medal round and received a 1st line Allstar. My third year of Belle (09) I finished off my last year with the Angels and also was an AP for the NRL Prairie Fire. I ended up going to Nationals with the Prairie Fire in PEI (09).
In the summer of 2009, I played for Team Canada West and traveled to Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic for the first World Junior Championships.
Last year was my Rookie year with the Prairie Fire. We placed third in the Western Division and ended up with a Bronze at the Nationals in Saskatoon (10) and I received an Individial Achievement award in the bronze medal game. Next year I will continue to play for the NRL Prairie Fire.
As well as playing, I am involved with player development. I have been a MRA instructor and have helped out at the Ringette Retreat and Winkler Ringette Retreat. I help instruct at "Hire the Fire"s, which are coaching sessions offered by the Prairie Fire, and at the Prairie Fire Christmas Camp. During the past three seasons, I have run the BVRA goalie clinic. Last year, I was the goalie coach/trainer for the BVRA Angels Junior AA team. This coming year, I will be the head goalie instructor for the BVRA Angels' Tween, Junior and Belle teams.
